Honeymoon - Day 5 - 5/28/11

Freeport. The Bahamas

The second and last port was Freeport.  We awoke to see that the port is not in town like Nassau but that you have to take a bus ride.  No problem!

We had breakfast brought to us by room service, that was nice.  When we got off the ship, we easily found a taxi to Port Lucaya marketplace.  Freeport already seemed a lot less pushy than Nassau.

Our taxi driver even told us where we could access a free beach by the police station.  most other beaches you have to pay to use. The beach we were on was great!

Again, not nearly as many people selling things!  Unfortunately, a storm came in.  We got off the beach and into the marketplace just in time to wait out the rain.

Once the rain stopped, we had lunch and did some shopping.  The market had lots of nice stores and no one was pressuring us to buy things!

We decided to get the taxi back to the port.  We both got some Bahamian beer at the port and hung out for a bit.  They had some live music and a few shops with souvineirs.

We both really enjoyed Freeport.  When we got back on the ship we took a look at the industrial area the ships dock in.

That night there was a deck party on the ship.  We stayed up late with our dinner partners and enjoyed another comedy show and some cigars and mojitos before ending the night with karaoke.

Tara and Nathan were our dinner partners, they were also on their honeymoon.

We had a snake in our bed that night.
