Honeymoon - Day 1 - 5/24/11

Chicago to Charleston

We arrived at O'Hare the standard two hours before our flight.  After scoping out the area around our gate, we decided to have a sit down lunch at Wicker Park, a restaurant with pretty good sushi.

Drinks are a must!

We finished lunch and drinks right in time to board the plane ... the very small plane that we had to walk outside and up some stairs to board.  One of the smalled commercial planes I've been on:

Arriving In Charleston

Upon arrival, we took a cab from the airport and checked into the Best Western King Charles Inn.

We were immediately greeted with Southern hospitality and something we don't have in Chicago:
Happy Hour!

We had a couple drinks and dipped our feet in the pool:

Then we got cleaned up and went to dinner at Charleston Grill.  This restaurant was fancy and we had some amazing food.  Brian enjoyed his Guinea Hen and I had Seared Halibut.  It was all delicious!

The restaurant had a live jazz trio that played throughout dinner and the chef made a special dessert for us:

After traveling all day and sharing a delicious bottle of red wine, we returned to our room.
