Honeymoon - Day 4 - 5/27/11

Nassau, The Bahamas

We woke for our day in Nassau to find were has anchored at the port which is between Nassau and Paradise Island.  Atlantis Resort could be seen right from our balcony.

There was also a giant ship next to us that we learned was a used car carrier.

We had breakfast on the ship and then went to explore Naussau.  We decided to take a water taxi to Paradise Island.  It was $6 per person for a round trip ride.  There was even a guy on board that gave a history and shared some intersting facts about Nassau.  He asked for tips at the end but it was pretty entertaining so we obliged.

We had one thing in mind at Nassau ... the beach!  It was about a 20 minute walk but we eventually found one; the locals were very helpful.  The beach was filled with people trying to sell things but relaxing despite that.

We were there for a few hours before we caught the water taxi back to Naussau.  We then decided to have lunch at Senor Frogs.  The food was delicious but very over priced.

We did spend a few minutes at the Straw Market.  We got a souvenier but the place was very pushy, I couldn't even look at something without being asked to make a deal on the price.  We decided to head back to the ship.

Brian took a nap while I got some pictures of Nassau and the boat leaving the port.

There was a beautiful sunset that night before dinner.  The best part of late dining is the sunsets.

A scorpion awaited us in our room when we returned:
